Earth Hour is WWF's global climate change initiative where they encourage everyone to switch off their lights for one hour at 8:30pm on March 28, 2009. By joining the Earth Hour campaign Skretting North America wants to show its support for action on climate change.
Earth Hour began in 2007 in Sydney, Australia where 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 it grew into a global sustainability movement with 50 million people switching off their lights.
In 2009, Earth Hour has a goal of 1 billion people in 1000 cities around the world switching off their lights.
To participate, the easiest thing to do is to turn off your lights on March 28, 2009 at 8:30pm. For more information, please visit www.earthhour.org
