Rabobank will reveal recently gathered and previously unpublished information on the current cost structure in various protein production chains, including salmon, pangasius and land animal meat products, in the light of current raw materials prices.

Vidar Julien, the new AquaVision conference director, believes this study will present aquaculture and seafood companies world wide with new challenges. "Aquaculture management people will gain valuable knowledge from presentations such as this and from the hundreds of personal interchanges uniquely possible at AquaVision. It is all good information to take back home and discuss in their board meetings.

"AquaVision is a conference where people bring and share information and their views on what is essential for the development of the industry and how to achieve it. The great majority of delegates come because they know that, for the aquaculture industry to become a substantial provider of affordable, high quality food, there are many areas of activity where it must move in a coordinated manner. At AquaVision they can meet in a neutral arena to facilitate that coordination.

"The conference attracts business leaders, regulators, scientists, environmental groups, analysts, processors and retailers. All have a role to play in aquaculture and AquaVision is a place where they can sharpen their insights. The core idea of AquaVision is to spread thought provoking information, create a meeting place for exchange of opinions and information and supply executives with valuable information for their management teams.

"Lately we have experienced rapid changes in food raw material prices. AquaVision 2008 will address numerous topics related to these trends, from all points along the value chain. The perspective delegates can gain by gathering all this information in one place can be highly valuable when they go to their next management meeting."

Vidar Julien is confident that there is hardly any other aquaculture or fish farming forum customised so appropriately for aquaculture management world wide, irrespective of production volumes or type of product.

Since 1996 AquaVision has attracted around 500 aquaculture decision makers, politicians, NGOs, banks and analysts from all over the world to this biennial conference in Stavanger, Norway. Full conference details and registration form is available at www.aquavision.org
